Urban development plan for the Sankuru region in the Democratic Republic of Congo, focused on creating a modern urban center to serve as a reference hub for regional development. Plan elements: - Planned residential neighborhoods - Administrative center and public services - Regional market and commercial area - Health and educational facilities - Basic infrastructure network
The Challenge
The Sankuru region is one of the most isolated in the DRC, with minimal infrastructure, limited access to essential services and urgent need to create structures that can serve as a catalyst for local development.
The Solution
Gradual development of a planned urban center, starting from essential infrastructure and expanding progressively, with strong involvement of traditional authorities and local communities in project governance.
The Results
Creation of a replicable urban development model for remote regions of the DRC, improved access to services for 100,000 people and attraction of investments for the development of the region's natural resources.
