The Democratic Republic of Congo is the geographical and mineral heart of Africa. With over 100 million inhabitants, it is the most populous French-speaking country in the world. It holds 70% of the world's cobalt reserves, essential for electric car batteries, as well as copper, coltan, diamonds, gold and immense hydroelectric potential (Grand Inga). Despite logistical and security challenges in some regions, the DRC is strategic for the global energy transition. ItalAfrica has its African headquarters in Kinshasa.
