Mozambique is emerging as a global energy power thanks to the enormous gas reserves in the Rovuma Basin (100-180 TCF). ENI operates the Coral Sul FLNG project (Africa's first floating LNG) with production since 2022, and is developing Coral Norte. Despite security challenges in Cabo Delgado, LNG projects are advancing. The economy is also based on coal (first export), agriculture and aluminium. The Maputo and Nacala logistics corridors connect landlocked countries.
